Greenhill

GreenhillChallenge
Greenhill and J O Hambro were jointly looking to buy the number one snooker proposition on the market, Rileys . The owners of Rileys would not allow a normal due diligence process, nor did they allow an internal examination of the Rileys business. So the challenge for Greenhill and J O Hambro was to evaluate the viability and potential of an acquisition of Rileys, without the usual due diligence to support their decision.

Approach
iris Concise were asked to advise the two P.E. Firms on the potential acquisition, using their knowledge of the industry and of Rileys. iris Concise therefore developed a rigorous approach which enabled Greenhill and J O Hambro to make a call on the potential growth and health of the snooker market in general, based around. This was focussed on the UK but extended to looking at opportunities in growth markets like China.

Outcome
The insight iris Concise provided to Greenhill and J O Hambro, helped the two firms come to an informed decision and acquired Rileys. The Chairman they installed was someone iris Concise recommended and is still in the role two years on.
